Welcome to Sounds Profound
My Name is Willow Freeman. I am an artist, craftsman, musician and healer. I have been making high quality Native American style flutes for many years now, selling all over the world to Shamans, recording artists, healers, yoga practitioners and people on all kinds of spiritual paths.

The way I work is evolving. Ive always made flutes in a respectful way and this has not changed. I am making more of the branch flutes then anything at the moment. People love them because they are all individual and have there own Spirit and personalities! Lately though I have been making flutes for the individual. Once asked to make a flute, I connect with that person, either by phone or e mail, and just chat with them for a short while. I don't ask personal details, its very informal. I tune into them! With some people it is so easy to connect, with some it is not, and takes a little longer. I then open myself up to be guided to the flute. Sometimes I have to go flute hunting until I stumble across it, but sometimes I hear it sing to me while I'm walking. Sometimes I dream where it is while i'm sleeping! What I'm trying to say, is that while i'm working I tune back into the person, and marry their wants and needs into the flute, making a truly healing instrument. Ive been making flutes now for over ten years, it takes a great deal of sensitivity and even the branch flutes are of a professional quality, but the emphasis is not about music itself, but about bringing balance and harmony to body and Spirit! Not just to the player but to all that hear it, the two legged's, the four legged's, the winged's, the swimmers and the crawlers. The past , present and future.
Dear Willow
I believe these are the most wonderful flutes I have ever seen. The two "A" flutes are a wonderful couple, the black walnut flute has a wonderful sound, very melodical, I feel with how much love you made these flutes. The second “A” flute will be the Christmas gift for Patrizia. I'm looking forward to playing these flutes together.
You know that your flutes always accompany me in these days and give me a lot of power and love. I'm so grateful that I meet you as a good friend and shamanic companion.
Blessing to you my friend
love and light

A Grandfather from the Cherokee Nation was talking with his grandson.
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight between two wolves."
The young grandson listened intently.
"One wolf is evil, unhappy, and ugly: He is anger, envy, war, greed, selfishness, sorrow, regret, guilt, resentment, inferiority/superiority, false pride, coarseness, and arrogance. He spreads lies, deceit, fear, hatred, blame, scarcity, poverty, and divisiveness."
"The other wolf is beautiful and good: He is friendly, joyful, loving, worthy, serene, humble, kind, benevolent, just, fair, empathetic, generous, honest, compassionate, grateful, brave, and inspiring resting wholeheartedly in deep vision beyond ordinary wisdom."
The grandson paused in deep reflection of what his grandfather had just said. Then he exclaimed; "Oyee! (in recognition).
Grandfather continued; "This same fight is going on inside you, and inside all human beings as well."
The grandson paused in deep reflection and recognition of what his grandfather had just said. Then he finally cried out deeply; "Oyee! Grandfather, which wolf will win this horrific war?"
The elder Cherokee replied, "The wolf that you feed. That wolf will surely win!"
I would like to explain about the way I work. I like to work by hand, usually outdoors by the river. I connect with my surroundings, the river the trees the birds that sing, the spirals in the water as they hit the rocks, even the gentle breeze helps in the making of my flutes. I keep in mind the person that I am making the flute for, and if I don't know the person, I usually say prayers as I'm working, and giving thanks for the honour of being the craftsman that brings these flutes into being.
Taking the craft out into nature instead of a dusty, noisy workshop makes a better flute for the player. It is created in a meditative state and many people who have played my flutes say they can feel the calm, The direction the river has added, or the song the birds have added , they feel rooted like the tree grounded but also expanding outwards etc etc. This is my intention, and my purpose! I thought this was important to let my potential customers know. The flute is not just a musical instrument, it is a spiritual tool and a companion.
